- The story on top has numbered blanks. Blank 1 is row 1, blank 2 is row 2, and so on, matching the numbers beside the board. The sentence tells you which word belongs in each row.
- Tap a column to spin its letters down one step. The bottom one wraps to the top.
- Every word keeps one locked letter, green with a little lock. Locked letters never move, the column spins around them.
- Rows that are not real words shake. Fix them all and the story completes itself.
- Fixing one row often breaks another. That is the glitch moving.
- In practice you can pick a 3, 4, or 5 word board. More words, more chaos.
- Best shows the fewest taps this board can be solved in. Match it for a perfect solve.
- Keep tapping a column and it loops back to where it started.
- On a keyboard, press 1 to 4 to spin a column, or N for a new round.
About the puzzle
One puzzle a day, free, in the browser. Every row is a four letter word with one letter locked in place. Spinning a column moves every unlocked letter in it, so a fix in one row is often a break in another. Solve every row at once and the story above the board fills itself in.
The lock glyph on a tile, not just its colour, is what marks a locked letter, so the board still reads if the greens and reds are hard to tell apart.
